Let Go and Let God

I hope and pray all is well with you and your family. You might know this, but my family has picked a word (or a Bible verse) of the year every year. It is to expect what God might be doing and give thanks in advance to our Father.

As we were coming back from our family vacation to Mount Charleston in Las Vegas to enjoy family time together in the snow, we talked about what our word for the year 2022 could be. Kids suggested hope, faith, and adventure. I love how my kids are understanding and participating in our family tradition. (Well, one of the suggested words was “train” so I will say almost. LOL)

Here is what I am thinking about suggesting as our family word for the year 2022: Let Go and Let God. This is what I am praying for Overflowing Ministries as well.

As you know, our journey of planting Overflowing Church has been a journey of trusting God and following his plans instead of our plans. Our plans for Overflowing Church didn’t include COVID-19, but God used all circumstances to equip us and become a new ministry to support churches and ministries. Whether it was big or small, we were able to observe what God was doing in and through us all throughout 2020 and 2021.

  • In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. (Proverbs 16:9)
  • And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
  • Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20)

It’s never too difficult to find God’s Word on how much it is crucial for us to let go and let God. Our God is good, and his plans for us are good.

Someone might ask me if I don’t want to see fruits in front of my eyes. I will say “yes, of course.” However, I’ve learned to let go and let God through the journey of planting Overflowing Church.

For instance, we were known as a coffeehouse church and now became a coffee ministry. Serving a delicious cup of coffee allowed us to build relationships with people so that we can introduce Jesus’ love for them. However, we didn’t always get the opportunity to share the gospel with people, and we’ve decided that it was okay. It is okay because we’ve decided to trust God’s ways and timing, not ours.

That’s why we’ve decided to launch Overflowing Ministries to serve churches and ministries with evangelism efforts. People don’t need to know who we are or why we do what we do because we just want to support churches so that they can build relationships with people in the community and share the gospel with them. We don’t need to see the fruits in front of our eyes (even though we want to). The important thing is there will be fruits. That is more than enough reason for us to move forward with the mission to serve churches and ministries.

Did you know that there are 7.753 billion people on earth, 192 countries in the world, and 3007 counties in the United States? We want to impact the world for Christ, but we will impact the world 1 cup at a time.

Thank you so much for your generosity. Through your generosity, Overflowing Church was born, and now we’re re-born as Overflowing Ministries. Through your generosity, we will continue to serve churches and ministries to share the gospel. Through your generosity (or when you pay it forward), we can continue to serve free coffee for small churches and church plants.
