We say things like we’re blessed to be a blessing, but what we can do to show generosity may sometimes seem limited. This is one of the reasons why we must remember that we are better together. We better be together. Together, we can make a better, bigger, and greater impact.

Generosity is investing in the Kingdom of God.

Invest

You could invest in stocks, high-yield savings, bonds, index funds, 401(k), IRA, real estates, and many others. Those investment are for your future including your retirement, and you should be investing in them.

However, you can also invest in the Kingdom of God participating in what God is doing everywhere on earth today, tomorrow, and forever. Investing for your retirement is good and necessary, but investing in the Kingdom of God is better and eternal.

Have you ever wondered how big of a kingdom impact you could make when you could only give $10 or even less?

Now imagine that you are not the only one who is investing in the Kingdom of God. It is possible for you to see thirty, sixty, and a hundred times as much when we are together in showing the generosity. 

It is like an exchange-traded fund (ETF) in reserve. You may think $10 to support a church plant too little, but when 100 people put $10 into the same fund, it becomes $1,000.

Growth

As we invest in the Kingdom of God through generosity, we grow spiritually because generosity is love in action. We can give without love, but we cannot love without giving. Remember John 3:16? “For God so loved the world that he gave…” When we invest in the Kingdom of God, we value what God values.

Overflowing Generosity

At our coffee cart, we have a sign says, “free coffee because someone paid it forward. You can, too.” That’s right! The only reason why it is free is because someone paid it forward, and it is all about generosity. 

It often leads us to a deeper conversation to talk about the gospel. We have received this greatest gift ever called salvation for free. It is free, but it is not free. It is free only because someone paid the cost for it for you, and his name is Jesus. 

This Pay It Forward has been the strategy for Overflowing Coffee from the beginning because that is one of the ways how we overflow God’s goodness and mercy that follows us every day of our lives.

I believe Overflowing Coffee is just one of the countless examples of overflowing generosity. I believe God works in and through your overflowing generosity.
